Relaunching Good As Gold
I started Good As Gold in 2008 and have never really promoted the business until now. I’ve always been lucky to have retainer clients, secured via recommendations and direct invitations to tender. I work so closely with several of them that I feel like part of their teams.
This is a big compliment. Having steady yet flexible work was also a financial and emotional lifeline through early motherhood: the sweet yet intense years when my children were pre-schoolers … followed by that stressful spell when the pandemic turned them into home-schoolers.
They’re growing up, though, and I have a little more time to take on new projects. Organisational changes and budget cuts for one of my major clients mean a long-running contract has come to an end. This felt scary at first, but now I’m seeing it as an opportunity to seek new challenges.
Getting myself ‘out there’ means I can also use my voice more, and my business as a platform for social good. Good As Gold may be a micro business, but the decisions I make, my buying and banking choices, the way I conduct myself: they all have an impact on others.
So it’s time to meet new people and take on new projects. If you’re interested in working together, drop me a line.
