Sandwell Council: editorial, marketing and social media support

Between 2008 and 2024 I supported Sandwell Council’s regeneration team with several of its websites, including finditinsandwell and Think Sandwell. I wrote content for a vast array of literature: reports, press releases, presentation materials, brochures, leaflets and more. I wrote hundreds of online news stories and event listings, plus complementary social media posts, and crafted entries that helped the team win or secure shortlisted status for several prestigious awards. I also had the honour of mentoring a school leaver called Ethan through his digital marketing apprenticeship. One of my biggest assignments was working with West Bromwich-based web development company Studio 14 to deliver the Sandwell Business Growth website, showcasing the team’s support for its business community, and extolling the virtues of social value and community wealth building. My work included market research, name and branding development, and writing a thesis-length number of words!
This contract ended due to organisational changes and budget cuts within Sandwell Council. I remain on excellent terms with the Sandwell Business Growth Team.

“Hi Marie, I just wanted to say thank you for the work you and your company have done to make the new website content so good, the transition has been a big success for us as a team as it is even better for customers now”
- Gareth Owens, Sandwell Council.
